Opening Night Double Feature:

Creating Rem Lezar & VHYes

7:00 pm

We’re kicking off the festival with an Opening Night Double Feature! Starting with Creating Rem Lezar, a 1989 children’s musical about a couple of lonely kids who make a mannequin superhero that comes to life and teaches them about friendship and fantasies through the power of song.
Then stick around for VHYes, a bizzare found-footage comedy that’s a love letter to VHS, public access television, and late night cable.

Saturday Morning with Munchie (Remix!)

Remix!

Remember the feeling of vegging out on Saturday mornings; cereal bowl by your side?

Well, kick off your 4/20 celebration with Munchie (the way Roger Corman almost definitely intended). But don't get too comfortable, because it's Saturday morning and we're all hopped up on sugar, so there will definitely be some channel surfing. You never know what will pop up on the screen. Pajamas are encouraged.

Man has a Mania
Special Sneak Peak Screening

12:00 pm

Join us and writer/director Keith Hopkins (Hexagon Motion Pictures) for a special 30-minute sneak preview of the upcoming local feature Man Has a Mania followed by a Q&A.

Man Has a Mania is a genre-bending prog rock opera shot entirely in the Northland. It tells the story of a post-apocalyptic time traveler (Ishiki 2.0) arriving in the present day to discover what led to their society's collapse.

Dungeon
New Cult Classic Edition

1:00 pm

Every year at Junk Food our goal will be to introduce you to a new Cult Classic. A film we stamp with our Seal of Approval, putting it up there with the likes of The Room, Fateful Findings, and Tammy and the T-Rex. Dungeon is a truly unique experience and the less said the better.

Ok, it's about a guy and his grandma. And a dungeon. That's all we can tell you.

2:00 pm

Love on a Leash

“Love takes a furry twist in this slice of romantic comedy. A young woman falls for a stray dog with a secret: by night, it becomes a man.”
Yup, you read that right - a woman falls in love with a stray dog. If Love on a Leash wasn’t made 13 years ago, you might have assumed it was AI-generated. But nope, real people took time out of their lives to make this, resulting in one of our new so-bad-it’s-good favorites.

4:00 pm

Microwave Massacre

JFFF is excited to bring you this classic Midnight Movie with writer Craig Muckler in attendance! Microwave Massacre stars Jackie Vernon (the voice of Frosty the Snowman, in case you wanted that movie ruined for you) as a man who discovers a taste for human flesh after murdering his wife.

Cool World

8:00 pm

Have you ever watched Who Framed Roger Rabbit? and thought to yourself “This isn’t sexual enough and the plot makes too much sense”? Then you’re gonna love Cool World.

10:00 pm

Bat Pussy

Can you call it porn if you’re fairly certain no one has ever been aroused by it? Bat Pussy raises this question and many more… Who made it? Where did it come from? How is this a Batman parody? Why the hell am I watching it?
It’s certainly an attempt at pornography, but our two lovers spend most of their time drunk and bickering.

Anyone who can endure all 50 minutes of Bat Pussy’s runtime will be entered into a drawing for some special prizes!
